Professional Summary
Erika Fille T. Legara is a scientist, educator, and practitioner in data science and artificial intelligence. She serves as the inaugural Managing Director and Chief AI and Data Officer of the Philippine Center for AI Research and is an Associate Professor at the Asian Institute of Management, where she designed the country’s first MSc. in Data Science program and led it as Academic Program Director from 2017 to 2024. An Eisenhower Fellow, Erika’s current work focuses on advancing responsible AI governance and algorithmic auditing. She sits on the Board of Directors of RCBC, is a Fellow at the Institute of Corporate Directors, and an IAPP Certified AI Governance Professional. Recognized as an Outstanding Young Scientist by the National Academy of Science and Technology in 2020, she is also a TOYM and TOWNS awardee, and an Asia 21 Young Leader (Class of 2022).
