As I always say (or warn!), AI transformation isnβt for the faint of heart. Boards must lead with a sharp DSAI Strategy (Data Science and AI) that aligns with organizational goals. Had a fantastic time in Seoul to join a small-group, insightful discussion on Operationalizing AI Governance, with a special focus on standards setting. It was so nice and particularly valuable to learn how various countries in APAC are addressing the development of AI standards as part of our broader AI governance frameworks. The diversity of challenges and approaches, from government initiatives to private sector involvement, was eye-opening (and fascinating), especially when considering how these standards incorporate key AI ethics principles like transparency and accountability.

T. Bauer College of Business (University of Houston) Dean Paul A. Pavlou to discuss AI in business educationβwhether itβs a threat or an opportunityβbrought me back to 2018 ICAM in Hawaii. That year, Balaji Padmanabhan and I urged business schools to reimagine not just their curricula but all aspects of their operations and offerings in light of Data Science and AI (DSAI). At that time, fewer than 20% of top businesses saw AIβs significant impact.
